Learning aim A: Understand the applications and features of digital animation products
Review Existing Animations

The charity managers would like some information about the sort of features that can be included in an animation and the different purposes an animation can have, providing a comparison of two different kinds. Before you can start creating animations of your own it's a good idea to review other people's animations. This will help you to identify features and help you incorporate some of the features into your own animation.

You are going to create an animation using flick book animation techniques. It is important to look at samples of different animation techniques before beginning the design process. They have asked you to review two different kinds of animation products and to prepare a short presentation on this subject. You will need to describe:

  • the features of both animation products
  • the purpose of both animation products
  • how both products are fit for their intended purpose
  • the intended effect on the audience of each type of animation

You should also discuss the strengths and weaknesses of both animation products.
